Vividly Toned Gem 1834 Large 4 Dime
1834 10C Large 4 MS65 NGC. JR-2, R.3. This variety is confirmed by the die crack through the left side stars and the oversized D in UNITED. The vertical shield lines extend into the eagle's claws. Golden-brown color frames the steel-gray portrait, while the reverse field exhibits olive patina. A sharply struck, satiny, original, and carefully preserved Gem. The finest of four examples that NGC has certified as JR-2 (3/04).(#4526)Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 4526, Greysheet# 4007)
