Description
1850-O Gold Dollar, MS62
Scarce, Low-Mintage Issue
1850-O G$1 MS62 NGC. Variety 1. The only dies for the date.
From a low mintage of 14,000 pieces, the 1850-O is the rarest
O-mint gold dollar. Doug Winter estimates a surviving population of
175-250 examples in all grades, with about two dozen specimens in
Mint State. The present coin displays intricate detail in all
design elements, with appealing frosty luster. A few shallow
abrasions are present, but none are worthy of individual mention.
