Description

Condition Rarity 1878-CC Morgan Dollar, MS65 Deep Mirror Prooflike

1878-CC $1 MS65 Deep Mirror Prooflike NGC. The 1878-CC Morgan Dollar is a scarce issue as a Gem, and most prooflike survivors are semi or one-sided at best. Not only is this coin deeply mirrored in the fields on both sides, but the frosty textured devices provide memorable cameo contrast. Speckled tan-russet patina adheres to the denticles in select areas, and there are only a few small abrasions here and there. Sharply struck, as befits an example of this popular first-year issue.
