Description
Beautiful Julian-NA-7 Burrows Naval Medal, MS63 Uncertified
Lieutenant William Burrows Naval Medal, Julian NA-7, MS63 Uncertified. Bronzed copper, 65 mm. An early die state of this obverse, with only the very beginnings of a die break through CLARAM on the obverse. As usually seen, however, there is some buckling of the obverse, visible as a nonplanar surface from the center to the rim at 7 o'clock. Engraved by Moritz Fürst, and signed FURST on the obverse. FURST F. on the reverse, with the R broken, signifying the original dies. Beautifully lustrous, with chocolate-brown surfaces, and nearly problem-free, save for a couple of luster grazes.
