(1834) Andrew Jackson MS63, HT-6, NGC. Brass. Low-4, R.2. The canary-gold surfaces exude satin luster and are essentially devoid of contact. The Roman-style portrait of Jackson is well struck, and a few scattered reverse flecks are of little concern. The legends refer indirectly to Jackson's celebrated victory over the British at the 1814 Battle of New Orleans.Ex: F.C.C. Boyd estate; John J. Ford, Jr. Collection, Part 4 (Stack's, 6/04), lot 6.
