Description
1739 Admiral Vernon Medal, Porto Bello, Adams-PBv-21-Q, R.6 -- Environmental Damage -- NGC Details. AU. Ex: Admiral Vernon Collection. Copper alloy. 36.3 mm. 21-Q and the following Adams-Chao variety, 21-R, appear to be the same dies. The only defining difference between the reverses is Reverse R lacks the C in CONDUCT, though this is likely due to a filled letter on Reverse Q. The current 21-Q example displays impactfully strong AU details with little wear, and overall brass-brown patina. The fields are lightly granular due to environmental corrosion.Auction Info
