1878 20C PR64 PCGS. BF-1, R.3. A single die pair was employed at Philadelphia to coin 600 proof twenty-cent pieces in 1878, the final year for the denomination that was too easily confused with quarter dollars. This Choice proof has fully mirrored fields with light cameo contrast, although it is not designated as a Cameo proof. The surfaces display mauve-gray and pale gold toning.(Registry values: N2998)
