Scarce 1850 Proof Seated Dollar, PR61
1850 $1 PR61 NGC. Deep, mottled toning appears over the surfaces of this scarce proof dollar. The design elements are fully struck, and there are no distracting contact marks on either side, but a few wispy hairlines are observed in the fields. According to Bowers (1993): "Examples of the Proof 1850 Liberty Seated dollar were occasionally seen in dealers' hands in the 1950s, but by now they have been widely dispersed.
