Description
Enticing Select Proof 1859 Seated Dollar
1859 $1 PR63 PCGS. This majestic specimen offers cloud-gray and mocha patina that turns to ocean-blue and violet when held to the light. Crisply detailed with excellent eye appeal despite the light, scattered hairlines that account for the grade. While the Guide Book lists this issue's mintage as 800 pieces, its survival rate today suggests that a significant number went unsold and were melted. Population: 31 in 63, 48 finer (8/07).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 252D, PCGS# 7002, Greysheet# 7301)
