Description

Uncirculated 1800 JR-2 Dime

1800 10C MS60 NGC. JR-2, R.5. The two varieties of the year share the same obverse die, but this reverse, rarer than the JR-1 variety, has the first S in STATES centered over the first cloud. The obverse shows a fair amount of distractions that account for the grade: light pinscratches from the ear to the drapery, in the right field, and through IB; some miscellaneous field chatter; and a couple of grease stains. On the other hand, the color and luster are pleasing and the coin is well struck, save for the obverse highpoints. Census: 1 in 60, 4 finer (4/06).(Registry values: P6)
