Description

1909-S Indian Cent, MS64 Red
An In-Demand Key Date

1909-S 1C MS64 Red PCGS. CAC. The 1909-S has the lowest mintage (309,000 pieces) of the Indian Head cent series, but the survival rate is relatively high owing to it being the last year of issue. That said, it is still an important key date, and fully Red pieces in the better Mint State grades are in high demand. Orange luster envelops this near-Gem. The first couple of feather tips and the shield are somewhat soft as typically seen, but all four diamonds are sharp. A few light ticks preclude Gem classification.(Registry values: N1793)
