Description
1876 U.S. Centennial Medal MS60 Uncertified. Julian CM-11. White metal, 57 mm. Charles Barber was the engraver. The reflective fields have a few moderate marks, and the obverse rim has spots at 12 and 2:30. In his 1977 reference Medals of the United States Mint, R.W. Julian states that "only 583 large white metal medals are recorded as being made, all in the 1877 fiscal year."(#661876)Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 661876)
