Description

Sharply Struck 1723 Rosa Americana Two Pence

1723 2PENCE Rosa Americana Twopence MS61 Brown PCGS. Breen-92, Stop after REX, no stop after date. Dark brown in color with scattered raised red corrosion on the obverse and a few small patches on the reverse. This corrosion likely limited the grade as there are no other surface problems worthy of note. Still eye appealing and scarce this nice, as most survivors show substantial evidence of circulation. For a copper coin of this period, this type of patina is frequently encountered. Housed in an older green insert PCGS holder. Population: 2 in 61, 11 finer (12/05).

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2ASZ, PCGS# 128, Greysheet# 35)
