Large Date, S-289
1812 1C Large Date MS63 Brown PCGS. S-289, B-4, R.1. This
variety is most easily identified by the reverse, which has a leaf
pair protruding well into the space between the words STATES and
OF. Deep brown surfaces show violet and blue overtones. Struck
softly and with worn dies, as nearly always seen, yet attractively
