Description

Lustrous MS65 Red and Brown 1909-S Indian Cent

1909-S 1C MS65 Red and Brown PCGS. CAC. A second key to the series, along with the 1877, although not as rare as that earlier date. This is a particularly attractive example. Each side shows the "woodgrain" effect that is commonly seen on 1909 cents of both design types. As a result, the brown color of the woodgrain subdues the otherwise rich red color seen over each side. A wonderfully clean and problem-free coin. The only negative aspect we can point out is softness on the tips of the feathers in the headdress.(Registry values: N1793)
