Description

Dazzling MS65 1850 Gold Dollar

1850 G$1 MS65 PCGS. Both sides display an exceptional frosty sheen and dazzling satiny brilliance, with predominately yellow-gold color and a touch of reddish patina at the base of the reverse. This date is often lumped with the 1851, 1852, 1853, and 1854 as "common dates," but actually, the 1850 is much scarcer than the other Type One issues in Mint State and is very rare as a Gem. Population: 11 in 65, 3 finer (2/08).(Registry values: N4719)
