Description
1929 $2 1/2 MS64 NGC. Sharply struck and coruscating with caramel-gold luster. The obverse is particularly smooth. By 1929, the final year of the denomination, the quarter eagle was relegated to souvenir status, since gold coins no longer circulated and international payments were made using double eagles or (less frequently) eagles.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 289F, PCGS# 7953, Greysheet# 8614)
