Description

1853 1C MS65 Red and Brown PCGS. CAC. N-3, R.1. The tiny die lump in the field below the ball of the 5 provides identification of the variety in earlier die states. The blurry lump indicates that this piece is actually a middle die state, Grellman State b. Both sides are virtually full red with mellowing on the high points, and olive-brown on the rims. It is a lovely Gem with exceptional eye appeal. EAC 64. Population: 83 in 65 Red, 4 finer (2/09).
