Description
1804 1/2 C Spiked Chin. C-6, B-6, R.2. Die State 4--Corroded--NCS. VF Details. Fine 12 EAC. Braig State 2.85. Spiked Chin; Wide fraction, low numerator. Braig State 2.8 has a die crack from the main crack between E and R to the rim, and Braig State 3.0 has a full rim break over ME. This example, with a retained cud over ME could be called state 2.85. Most of the dentils over ME remain visible, even though the rim break in that area has formed. In the Manley die state scheme, this example falls between his states 4.0 and 4.5. The obverse has a small patch of greenish corrosion with otherwise desirable olive-brown color. A few small surface marks are visible on the obverse, while the all important reverse is remarkably nice.Ex: J.J. Teaparty (10/23/1980); Jack H. Robinson (Superior, 1/1989), lot 1920.
