Description

Seldom-Offered 1795 Small Head Half Dollar, O-127, VG10

1795 50C Small Head VG10 PCGS. O-127, R.6. The bust is narrow, although it is not quite as small as on Overton-126. The reverse has nine berries on the left and eight on the right, and the position of the leaf below the upright of the F in OF is diagnostic. Light gray toning on the devices contrasts nicely against the slightly darker fields. The upper left corner of the obverse shows several adjustment marks, and stars 6 and 7 are soft. The remaining details are fairly well-outlined, and there are no marks worthy of mention. A splendid example of this rare variety.
