Description
Haile Selassie silver Pattern Proof Set EE1923 (1930), Gill-S1-S5, the excessively rare five coin set featuring the 1/20 (Gersh), 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 and 1 Birr (Talari). The first four types are gem Proof with faint hairlines while the Birr shows some noticeable contact marks. Each obverse portrays the crowned Emperor with the legends "The First Haile Selassie, King of Kings of Ethiopia." The reverses show the Lion of Judah with the denomination below and the inscription "He is the Conqueror, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah." An once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire this magnificent Pattern Proof Set. All are reeded edge except for the Birr which is plain edge.Auction Info
