Haile Selassie silver Pattern Proof Set EE1923 (1930), Gill-S1-S5, the excessively rare five coin set featuring the 1/20 (Gersh), 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 and 1 Birr (Talari). The first four types are gem Proof with faint hairlines while the Birr shows some noticeable contact marks. Following the death of Queen Zauditu, this pattern series was struck at the Vienna Mint in 1930 to commemorate the elevation of Ras Tafari from King (Negus) to Emperor, with the new name of Haile Selassie I. Each obverse portrays the crowned Emperor with the legends "The First Haile Selassie, King of Kings of Ethiopia." The reverses show the Lion of Judah with the denomination below and the inscription "He is the Conqueror, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah."
