Gleaming Gem Top Pop Rohilkhand Mohur

Rohilkhand. Zabita Khan gold Mohur AH 1185 Year 13 (1772) MS65 NGC, Najibabad mint, KM100, Fr-1377. NGC Top Pop. Goldenrod and amber surfaces are cloaked in gentle luster that makes it easy to see how this piece received Gem designation.

Named after the Rohilla, a Pashtun diaspora community, Rohilkhand is a region in Uttar Pradesh. Rohilkhand was under the control of the Mughal Empire for nearly two centuries until the early 1700's when the Rohilla dynasty rose to power, founding the Kingdom of Rohilkhand.
