Historic and Near-Choice "Peace of Westminster" Medal

"Peace of Westminster" silver Medal 1654 MS62 NGC, MI-415-52, Eimer-191. 60mm. By Sebastian Dadler. Issued in celebration of the Peace of Westminster between England and the United Provinces following the First Anglo-Dutch War, lasting from 1652-1654. MENTIBUS UNITIS PRISCUS PROCUL ABSIT AMAROR PILEA NE SUBITO PARTA CRUORE RUANT Britannia with harp on knees and Hollandia with lion at her feet, together holding Liberty cap // LUXURIAT GEMINO NEXU TRANQVILLA SALO RES EXCIPIT UNANIMES TOTIUS ORBIS AMOR British and Dutch frigate sailing together upon a tranquil sea. Confidently Mint State and a piece seen rather infrequently, let alone at comparable, advanced tiers of preservation. Certainly among Dadler's most skilled and ornate compositions and one certainly to draw the attention of the specialist.
