Description

Livorno. Cosimo III gold Doppia (Pezza d'oro della Rosa) 1718, KM40, Fr-466, MS63 NGC. Three-year type.  A wonderfully designed issue that illustrates a crowned shield on the obverse with a thorned rose bush on the reverse. Very choice, and rather desirable as such, with bright yellow-gold surfaces that remain nearly free of contact. Tied with one other example for the finest graded of the type at NGC.
