1873 1C Open 3 MS65 Red and Brown NGC. Captivating red-orange patina surrounds the mahogany centers of this minimally marked example. The flashy luster is barely affected by several carbon spots on the obverse. A sharply struck and conditionally scarce representative; housed in an old NGC holder. NGC has certified only two Red and Brown pieces finer (8/08). (Registry values: P5)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 272X, PCGS# 2107, Greysheet# 1327)
