Major General William H. Harrison Medal, Julian-MI-14, MS60 Uncertified. Bronzed copper, 62 mm, 140.3 gm. Obverse: bust facing right, legend around MAJOR GENERAL WILLIAM H. HARRISON, FURST F. below truncation. Reverse America crowns captured Indian and British arms with a wreath, legend around RESOLUTION OF CONGRESS APRIL 4, 1818. In exergue BATTLE OF THE THAMES OCTOBER 5, 1813. Tablet on arms reads FORT MEIGS BATTLE OF THE THAMES. FURST F. near lower rim, for engraver Moritz Fürst. This piece, like the one Julian notes in the West Point collection, has a small extra bar below T in FURST on the obverse, dating it from the 1880s or before. The surfaces are beautifully lustrous and free of spots, with just a trace of cabinet friction and some insignificant contact on the reverse.
