1662 Oak Tree Twopence, Fine 15
Small 2, Noe-31
1662 2PENCE Oak Tree Twopence, Small 2, Fine 15 NGC. Noe-31,
W-240, Salmon 1-A, High R.6. Ex: Carlyle Luer Collection. This
diminutive silver coin is the only Massachusetts issue dated other
than 1652, aside from the undated NE issues. Just over a dozen
examples of Noe-31 are thought to exist, and most are imperfectly
centered like this piece. The pewter-gray surfaces have lighter
silver devices and hints of pale blue overtones. Listed on page 40
