St. Patrick Farthing, Breen-208, AU50
Rare This Nice, 'Nothing Below King'
(1670-75) FARTH St. Patrick Farthing AU50 PCGS. Breen-208,
W-11500. Walter Breen estimated about 70 different varieties
exist of the Breen-208 "Nothing Below King" St. Patrick farthings.
This example is extremely sharp, with minimal wear that allows some
of St. Patrick's facial features to remain visible. FLOREAT is
smaller than some varieties and distant from the crown. Toned a
rich chocolate brown, the devices are a lighter tan for nice
contrast. The surfaces are lightly granular on each side. There is
little evidence of a brass splasher on the crown. Listed on page 43
of the 2017 Guide Book. Population: 8 in 50, 15 finer
