Description
1794 C-9, B-9 Half Cent, VF25
Last High Relief Variety
1794 1/2 C High Relief Head, C-9, B-9, R.2, VF25 PCGS.
Manley Die State 3.0. The Cohen and Breen references list this
variety last in the 1794 lineup, and this variety is one of the two
most plentiful 1794 die marriages. This is the second of three
distinct head types for the Liberty Cap cents, although the earlier
1794 head punch was used here, only with slight modifications. A
pleasing chocolate-brown example, this piece has the usual trivial
handling marks expected for the grade. Our EAC grade VF20.From The Mark Hays Collection of Half Cents.
