Elusive 1993 "Guanyin" 1500 Yuan

People's Republic gold Proof "Guanyin Bodhisattva" 1500 Yuan 1993 PR69 Ultra Cameo NGC, CC-509. Mintage: 30. Struck to a weight of 18 Taels. An exceedingly difficult emission to locate and the first instance this cataloger has handled, with none having come to market at major auction in at least 20 years. Furthermore, there have been only two instances in that same time where any examples of the smaller denominations were seen. Watery, reflective fields lay host to pristinely frosted motifs of Guanyin surrounded by lotuses. Among the major rarities of the modern series and certainly one deserving of fervent attention. Accompanied by COA #00018, and stamped "18" to the edge.
