Description
1795 C-6a, B-6a Half Cent, VF35
Struck over 1794 TAL Copper
1795 1/2 C Plain Edge, No Pole, Thin Planchet, C-6a, B-6a, R.2,
VF35 PCGS. Manley Die State 1.0. Struck over a 1794 Talbot,
Allum & Lee copper with NEW YORK. The undertype is visible inside
the border from 6 to 9 o'clock on the obverse and from 10 to 1
o'clock on the reverse. The N in NEW YORK is visible at the D in
UNITED. An attractive example, this half cent has dark olive-brown
surfaces and a glass reveals very slight roughness on the reverse.
A curved mark in the left obverse field is the top of the head from
the standing figure of the TAL token. Our EAC grade VF20.From The Mark Hays Collection of Half Cents.
