Description
1797 1/2 C Plain Edge, Centered Head, C-2, B-2, R.3, Fine 12 PCGS. Manley Die State 1.0, the only recorded die state for the C-2 half cent. This piece is struck over a Talbot, Allum & Lee token with undertype visible near the obverse and reverse borders. A nice companion to the overstruck 1797 C-1 half cent in this collection. The light olive surfaces are pleasing despite trivial handling marks.From The Mark Hays Collection of Half Cents.
