1909-S VDB Cent, MS66 Red
Beautifully Preserved and Lustrous

1909-S 1C VDB MS66 Red PCGS. The 1909-S VDB Lincoln cent is plentiful in terms of key date coins, although no other issue in all of numismatics has spurned as many young boys and girls into life-long coin collectors. For decades after this issue's coinage, examples could be found in circulation if enough eyes looked. Today, advanced collectors prefer Mint State pieces. This high-end Red example is among the finest that most collectors will have an opportunity to acquire, as the few higher-grade coins known are far out of reach for most numismatists. A sharp strike endows the devices with bold definition, and vibrant, frosty mint luster cascades through the orange-gold fields. A few tiny amber specks are not bothersome. PCGS reports merely 16 numerically finer Red examples (8/25).(Registry values: N2998)
