Lombardy-Venetia. Provisional Government gold 40 Lire 1848-M MS62 NGC, Milan mint, KM-C24, Fr-474. Vibrant, with rose-gold tone and glossy fields, this scarce example from the short-lived provisional period features a simple, yet highly stylistic design. Lightly handled, with faint hairlines and a few minor contact marks, all of which are noted in the grade. With a mintage of just 5,875 pieces, this largest gold denomination is highly pleasing and scarce as such.
