1879 Nickel, PR66+ Deep Cameo
Sole Deep Cameo at PCGS
1879 5C PR66+ Deep Cameo PCGS. CAC. The only Deep Cameo
proof 1879 Shield nickel certified by PCGS, with all of the "bells
and whistles" to go along with that distinction -- a Plus
designation, CAC endorsement. NGC also reports a lone Ultra Cameo
example of this issue, graded PR66. A finer piece listed by CAC may
have been regraded, since it no longer appears on the population
charts.Deeply mirrored fields contrast starkly with sharp, frosty devices, and this Registry coin has the faintest tint of light golden color. Eye appeal is outstanding. Population: 1 in 66 (1 in 66+) Deep Cameo, 0 finer. CAC: 1 in 66, 1 finer (1/20).(Registry values: P1)
