Description

1937 Buffalo Nickel, PR65
Colorful, Brilliant Proof Type Coin
OGH Holder

1937 5C PR65 PCGS. Distinctive cerulean-blue toning extends downward from the chief's temple to his cheek and chin where gold, ice-blue and violet accents mingle for a pleasingly colorful obverse. As on most 1937 proofs, the strike is virtually full throughout both sides. Magnification reveals a number of gray flecks that serve to confirm the original surfaces of this gleaming Gem proof. The coin resides in a Generation 3.0 green label holder, one of 5,769 proofs struck for the year. All 1937 proofs display the mirror-field style preferred by proof collectors of the day and still cherished by Buffalo nickel specialists seeking Gem or finer proofs.(Registry values: N991)
