Description

1917 Buffalo Nickel, MS67+
Rare Any Finer

1917 5C MS67+ PCGS. CAC. The 1917 Buffalo nickel claims a substantial mintage of 51.4 million pieces, making it an available issue in all grades up to the MS65 level. The population drops off considerably in MS67, however, and finer coins are virtually unobtainable. This Plus-graded Superb Gem exhibits sharply detailed design elements, with fine definition on the hair above the braid and the bison's shoulder. The impeccably preserved, mostly brilliant surfaces show a few subtle hints of ice-blue and pale jade toning at selected angles. Vibrant mint luster adds to the terrific eye appeal. Population: 26 in 67 (4 in 67+), 3 finer. CAC: 6 in 67, 0 finer (10/19).(Registry values: N2998)
