Description
1899 Indian Cent, MS67+ Red
CAC-Endorsed Condition Census Example
1899 1C MS67+ Red PCGS. CAC. The 1899 is among the most
plentiful late-19th century Indian cents in Superb Gem Red
condition, although such coins are still scarce overall and require
patience to acquire. The most advanced collectors, including
Registry Set builders, seek the small number of pieces in MS67+ Red
or one of the three coins reported finer (11/25). However, these
elite Condition Census coins are rare. MS67+ Red pieces we have
handled in recent years have realized between $21,600 and
$27,600.The current piece is fresh to our auctions and is only the fourth distinct MS67+ Red coin we have handled. CAC endorsed, it displays simply sublime surfaces dripping with vibrant, frosty copper-red and golden luster. A sharp strike adds all the more to the eye appeal. A couple flecks at the base of the I in UNITED will serve as pedigree markers. PCGS Population: 47 in 67 (11 in 67+), 2 finer (11/25).(Registry values: N2998)
