Description

1893-O Morgan Dollar, MS63
Lowest New Orleans Mintage

1893-O $1 MS63 PCGS. CAC. Well struck, both sides exhibit overall sharp definition that wanes ever so slightly in the center of the obverse on the hair over Liberty's ear and in the corresponding area on the reverse. Both sides are untoned with a silver-gray sheen and a satiny finish that yields to appreciable brightness in the fields. There are some scattered bagmarks, but the surfaces appear exceptionally smooth for the assigned grade. The 1893-O has the lowest mintage of any New Orleans Mint Morgan dollar and is a challenging date that is in great demand at all levels of Mint State preservation. CAC: 35 in 63, 22 finer (6/25).(Registry values: P8, N2998)
