Lettered Edge, Well Struck

1836 50C Lettered Edge, O-114, R.2, MS64 PCGS. CAC. Medium chestnut-brown toning graces both sides of this well preserved and lustrous near-Gem, although the upper obverse field is close to brilliant. The strike is bold and there are no reportable marks. Small spots below star 3 and between the TE in UNITED provide identifiers. Within the Autumn 2021 Stephen J. Herrman Condition Census for the variety.
