Augsburg. Free City "City View" Taler 1642 MS64 NGC, Augsburg mint, KM77, Dav-5039, Forster-292. With the name and titles of Ferdinand III. Only the second example of this beloved City View Taler we have ever handled in this grade, standing as incredibly impressive, given that NGC records just a single MS65 finer. Outranking the ex. Millennia/Goodman specimen by a full grade point, the fields on this piece capture an incredibly fine velveteen texture--a feature often only hinted at on lower-grade pieces, and yet made fully appreciable here.
