Description

Saxony. Friedrich August III "Mining" Taler 1764-EDC MS65 NGC, Dresden mint, KM977.2, Dav-2681. A specimen deemed by the collector to be a "wonder coin," and impressive feat when considering each inclusion in the Cape Coral Collection would appropriately been deemed as such. An incredibly rare type as confirmed by NGC's census, where this remains the lone occupant. A quick survey reveals only a handful of auction appearances of the type in the past two decades, with none approaching the quality seen here. Temple white surfaces are preserved on the reverse while the obverse carries gentle lemon and lavender tones, all enlivened by boisterous flash.
