Exquisite Anne 5 Guineas
Anne gold 5 Guineas 1709 AU55 NGC, KM532, S-3567. OCTAVO
edge. A wonderful overall example of the perennially coveted date
and denomination for Queen Anne, whose portrait is admirably
rendered and retains impressive striking detail. The fields admit
slightly uneven tone that escalates all the way to moments of
hearty amber and fleeting glimpses of magenta towards the obverse
legends. Faint parallel marks in front of the sitter's bust are
noted for completeness, largely inconsequential as a whole for this
imposing specimen. Sold with with a collector's tray tag.Privately purchased from A.H. Baldwin in the early 1920s for £9/10s
