Description

Extreme Rarity Ex. Cape Coral 1660 Specie Daler

Frederik III Specie Daler 1660-FG MS63 PCGS, Christiania mint, KM54, Dav-3607, Hede-33B, ABH-84, Thesen-90. Mintage: 18,000. This specimen stands out as truly remarkable, boasting the lowest recorded mintage among its 4-year type. Combined with its exceptional Choice designation and certification scarcity, its status is one of instant rarity. While similar coins often show signs of circulation and exhibit uneven legends, the present piece shows none of these common flaws. Even the typical doubling of the king's portrait is minimized. A subtle charcoal hue enhances the obverse, accentuating the intricate details and highlighting areas of satin within the folds of the king's garments and amidst his locks. This piece is the only example currently graded by PCGS, matched by a sole example on the NGC Census. Furthermore, the last appearance of this issue was sold within our January 2021 NYINC Platinum and Signature Auction, realizing close to $35,000. As so, this handsome piece promises to be a prized possession for its fortunate future owner.
