British India. Victoria gold "Young Bust" Proof 5 Rupees 1870-CM PR63 Ultra Cameo NGC, Calcutta mint, KM476, Prid-40, S&W-4.23. Reeded edge. Struck from essentially perfect, sharply detailed dies, with deep mirrored reflectivity in the fields and stark frost on the central design that creates an impressive cameo appearance. The reverse die is slightly rotated. Given the overall quality of the presentation, we believe this to be an original strike of the issue and not a restrike as has been noted on the NGC holder.
