Description

1884 Cent, Blazing MS66+ Red
The Finest Example at NGC

1884 1C MS66+ Red NGC. Indian Head cent production dropped by more than half between 1883 and 1884. Rick Snow attributes the decrease to a difficulty in securing planchets. This blazing Red Premium Gem radiates frosty luster over surfaces that display pinpoint definition on the headdress, ribbon, and wreath elements. Clearly high-end for the grade. In fact, this is the finest example at NGC, and a not-to-be-missed opportunity for Registry builders. Census: 11 in 66 (1 in 66+) Red, 0 finer (7/16).(Registry values: N2998)
