1862 Copper-Nickel Cent, MS67
Tied for Finest at NGC
1862 1C MS67 NGC. The 1862 is a popular date as it is the
most obtainable copper-nickel cent in the 1860-1864 series. Not
only is it the most obtainable, but it is also the best-produced
date in this short, completable series. This piece has wondrous
mint luster, the color is light overall with a slight reddish-lilac
patina. The strike is complete, and as one would expect there are
no noticeable abrasions. Census: 7 in 67 (1 in 67+), 0 finer
