1799/8 $1 13 Stars Reverse, B-2, BB-143, R.4, VF25 PCGS.
Bowers Die State II. A light die crack travels from the right
(facing) wing through the base in OF to TES of STATES. A short,
heavy die crack angles down from the rim to the curve of D in
UNITED to confirm the B-2, BB-143 overdate. BB-143 is the scarcest
of three 1799/8 varieties and is usually seen in lower grades. This
is a well-preserved VF25 example, an ideal collector coin with
original medium-gray toning that lightens to light-gray at points
of circulation wear. Scattered tiny marks are diminished by this
coin's time in circulation. There are no significant contacts or
visible adjustment marks. Eye appeal is excellent for the assigned
