Description

1793 S-12, B-21 Cent, AG3
Elusive Liberty Cap Variety

1793 1C Liberty Cap, S-12, B-21, Low R.6, AG3 PCGS. Once considered a major rarity in the early cent series, this variety is still highly important, with exactly 30 pieces identified in our records. The central portrait of Liberty has a nearly complete outline except for the lowers hair details, and the date and LIBERTY are both visible. The reverse legend is mostly visible with a few leaves also noted, but the center is weak due to a characteristic die bulge. Myriad marks on the obverse are blended into the dark olive surfaces, with a reverse rim bruise at 1 o'clock. Our EAC grade AG3.
From The Loma Linda Collection.
