1871-CC $10 XF45 NGC. Winter 1-A....
Description
1871-CC Ten Dollar, XF45
Scarce in All Grades
1871-CC $10 XF45 NGC. Winter 1-A. A lightly circulated piece
with rich orange-gold patina and hints of luster still in the
protected areas. The fields and devices exhibit moderate abrasions
and chatter, typical of Carson City gold in this grade. The 1871-CC
eagle boasts a small mintage of only 8,085 pieces, and most that
survive are well worn. In XF or AU condition, this issue is notably
scarce, especially with original patina. Uncirculated pieces are
prohibitively rare. PCGS estimates a total survivorship of about
100 pieces in all grades, and the scarcity of examples at auction
supports that assessment. Census: 21 in 45, 48 finer
(8/25).(Registry values: N2998)From The Brittany Legacy Collection, Part I.
